  4. Paste today's levels

Each trading day you receive the levels file from Straydogtrading.com. Open the attached .txt file, select all and copy. Then open the indicator settings (the gear icon ), paste the block into the Levels field and click OK. All zones and levels are drawn at once. Paste the new block each day to update.

  5. Optional: chart clock and a tidy chart

Set the chart to Berlin time so the chart times match the DAX session. In the indicator settings, untick Values in status line and Inputs in status line under Style for a cleaner chart. Pictures and more tips: TradingView tips for a clean chart.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the levels come from?

From Straydogtrading.com. The indicator only draws the levels you paste in; it does not calculate or predict levels itself. You need an active Straydogtrading.com subscription to receive the daily levels.

Which charts does it work on?

Only on DAX instruments: the DAX index (XETR:DAX, also the free delayed feed, and TVC:DEU40), DAX CFDs such as FOREXCOM:GER40, TRADENATION:DE40 and IG:DAX, and the DAX futures FDAX, FDXM and FDXS. The full list is under supported tickers on the overview page.

Are the levels correct on a DAX future?

Yes. The levels are quoted on the cash index; on a DAX future the indicator shifts every level to the futures price with the offset that comes with the pasted block. You can fine-tune that offset during the day, or let the indicator measure it automatically.

Nothing is drawn — what now?

Check that you are on a supported DAX chart and that a complete block is pasted in the Levels field.

Can you add my broker's DAX ticker?

Very likely — email me which ticker you use.
