Single lines: the DAX price levels of the day
Not every level in the daily levels of Straydogtrading.com is a zone. Some are one exact price: a level where the picture changes, an important round level, an old high or low. Straydog Zones & Levels draws these as single lines, with their name and price — on the DAX index, a DAX CFD or a DAX future.
On this page
- 110:30 — first test of the Breakdown level: down to 25,183.21, but the candle closes above the line at 25,202.15.
- 212:00 to 14:00 — the DAX trades under the line, at most 42 points: 25,157.81 at 13:45.
- 314:15 — back above the line: the candle closes at 25,225.17.
- 415:45 — one more dip to 25,195, 5 points under the line. This time it holds.
- 516:45 — through the Important Level 25,360 in one candle. At 17:00 the DAX is at 25,413.22, 53 points above it.

Install Straydog →What a single line is
A single line is one price from the levels block, not a band. Its name tells you why it matters; on 15 October 2026 the block had, among others:
| Breakdown level | A price where the picture changes when price falls through it |
|---|---|
| Important Level | A price the market has reacted to before |
| January High, June 2025 High | An old high or low that is still in view |
| No name | Just the price |
The previous closing price, the futures settlement price, the untested closes and the moving averages are single prices too, but they have their own groups: see all Straydog elements.
How traders use them
- A line to hold or to lose. As long as price stays above a breakdown level, the picture is unchanged — as at 25,200 in the example, which the DAX lost and won back.
- One price, a small margin. Price rarely turns at the exact point; a few points either side still count, as the 5-point dip at 15:45 shows.
- The name is the context. An old high or an important level says why the price matters, so you know what a break means.

How Straydog Zones & Levels shows them
The lines come from the levels block you paste in the settings and are drawn across the whole chart, with their name and price on the right. The prices are DAX index prices: on the DAX index and on index CFDs they are drawn as they are; on a DAX future (FDAX, FDXM, FDXS) or a future CFD every line is shifted to the futures price with the offset from the levels block.
| Default look | Orange, solid, width 2 |
|---|---|
| Label on the chart | The line's name and price, for example Breakdown level 25.200 |
| Switched on by default | Yes |
| Price on your chart | DAX index and index CFDs: the price from the block · DAX futures and future CFDs: shifted with the offset |
| Markets | DAX only — see the supported tickers |
Why don't I see the lines?
- No levels block pasted, or an old one.The lines come from the block you paste in the settings. Paste the block of today; see install and paste the daily levels.
- The group is switched off.Check the first box under Single lines in the indicator settings.
- Your chart is not a DAX chart. The levels are DAX levels; on any other ticker the indicator stays empty. See the supported tickers.
- The line is outside the visible prices.Scroll or zoom out the price scale: old highs and lows can be far from the current price.

Frequently asked questions
Where do the single lines come from?
From the daily levels of Straydogtrading.com. You paste the day's levels block; every single price in it that is not a closing price, settlement price or moving average is drawn as a single line.
Why do some lines have no name?
The name comes from the levels block. When the block gives only a price, the label shows only the price.
Do the lines work on FDAX?
Yes. On FDAX, FDXM, FDXS and the DE40FU CFD every line is shifted with the offset from the levels block. Fine-tune it with Future offset adjustment.
