DAX levels on TradingView: FDAX, FDXM, FDXS and GER40

The DAX is Germany's leading stock index, and FDAX one of the busiest index futures in Europe. Whether you trade FDAX, a mini or micro future, or a GER40 CFD, the same reference levels matter: the pre-market range, the Xetra open, yesterday's DAX close, last week's high and low — and in the afternoon the US open. This page shows which ones, why the DAX close sits at another price on FDAX, and how to get every level on your chart at the right price.

FDAX 5-minute chart, 20 October 2026, Berlin time, with five Basics lines: after the open FDAX falls through the pre-market range, stops 2 points above last month's low and is rejected exactly at the pre-market low, where VWAP is too
FDAX 5-minute, Tuesday 20 October 2026 (Berlin time), Basics with five of its lines; the Xetra hours are shaded. At 09:00 FDAX falls from RTH O (25,367) through the pre-market range. At 09:55 the drop stops 2 points above last month's low of FDAX (PmL future, 25,180). The bounce runs straight back to the pre-market low (PMKT L, 25,284) at 10:30 — where VWAP is too — and is rejected: at 11:10 FDAX is back at PmL future.

FDAX, FDXM, FDXS and the DAX at a glance

The same market comes in several instruments. They move together, but not at the same price and not at the same hours:

DAX indexThe official index, calculated from the Xetra prices of 40 German companies: 09:00 – 17:30 Berlin time. Its closing and opening prices are the levels many traders watch.
FDAX (DAX future)The main future on Eurex. Trades from 02:15 (01:15 in winter) until 22:00 Berlin time and usually above the index. €25 per index point.
FDXM (Mini-DAX future)The same price as FDAX at a fifth of the value: €5 per point. Its own order book can make slightly different highs and lows.
FDXS (Micro-DAX future)The same price again, at €1 per point.
GER40 / DE40 CFDA broker product that follows the index itself, not the future — and trades outside the Xetra hours.

Basics and Untested Levels recognise every DAX ticker they support — index, FDAX, FDXM, FDXS, specific contract months and the CFDs of FOREX.com, IG, Trade Nation and Pepperstone — and set themselves up for it. The full list: supported tickers.

One level, two prices

FDAX trades above the DAX by the cash-future difference — up to about 190 points right after a roll, shrinking towards expiry. So yesterday's DAX close is not at the same number on your FDAX chart. Basics converts every index level to the price of the chart you trade, and every FDAX level to the price of the index or CFD: one level, always at the right place.

Example: on Friday 9 October 2026 the DAX made its high at 25,164.74. On FDAX that level sat at 25,302 — 137 points higher — and on Monday the 09:00 drop stopped 2 points above it, after which FDAX climbed 100 points by 09:55. See previous day high and low compared.

The FDAX trading day (Berlin time)

Pre-market02:15 (01:15 in winter) – 09:00. Its high, low and middle are PMKT H / PMKT L and PMKT M.
Xetra hours09:00 – 17:30, the hours of the German stock market. The price at 09:00 is RTH O; the official index open is RTH O index. Eurex sets the settlement price at the close.
US open15:30 (14:30 in the weeks when the US and Europe change their clocks on different dates): often the busiest moment of the afternoon — see US RTH O.
Evening17:30 – 22:00: FDAX keeps trading after the Xetra close.

Set your chart to Berlin time and these hours appear where you expect them — see trading sessions and TradingView tips.

Contract rolls

FDAX expires every quarter, in March, June, September and December. In the days before expiry the volume moves to the next contract, and FDAX1! on TradingView switches with it. The new contract has three more months to run, so it trades at a different price — right after a roll the gap to the index can jump by up to about 190 points. A level from before the roll can then exist twice: as it traded, and in the new contract's prices. Basics can draw both — see back-adjusted levels. Whether your chart's B-ADJ is on or off doesn't change the levels; it only moves the older candles.

Real-time or delayed data

Without a Eurex real-time subscription TradingView shows FDAX 10–15 minutes late. The levels themselves are not affected; a few lines that follow FDAX live — such as VWAP and the pre-market range while it forms — then lag by that delay, and Basics shows a small notice.

Set it up in two minutes

  1. Open an FDAX, FDXM, FDXS or GER40 chart on TradingView and set it to Berlin time.
  2. Add Basics — it recognises the ticker and draws the levels.
  3. Add Untested Levels next to it for the older closes, opens and gaps that are still in play — and, with a Straydogtrading.com subscription, Straydog Zones & Levels for the daily DAX zones.

Frequently asked questions

Which ticker do I use for FDAX on TradingView?

FDAX1! (EUREX:FDAX1!) is the continuous front-month contract; FDXM1! is the mini and FDXS1! the micro. A specific contract such as FDAXZ2026 works too. Basics and Untested Levels recognise all of them, plus the DAX index (XETR:DAX) and the GER40 / DE40 CFDs of the supported brokers.

Why is the DAX's closing price at a different price on FDAX?

FDAX trades above the index by the cash-future difference, which changes every day. Basics converts every index level with the current difference, so the DAX close lands at the right price on FDAX. See cash-future difference.

Do the levels work on FDXM and FDXS?

Yes. FDXM and FDXS trade at the same price level as FDAX, and Basics draws the levels of FDAX itself on their charts — the main future, where most of the volume trades. See main future.

And on a GER40 or DE40 CFD?

Yes. A CFD follows the index, so index levels are drawn as they are and the FDAX levels are converted to the CFD's price.

Which timezone should my chart use?

Berlin time. The Xetra open at 09:00 and the close at 17:30 then appear where you expect them, and the US open sits at 15:30.

Is Straydog Zones & Levels for the DAX?

Yes. It draws the daily DAX zones and levels from Straydogtrading.com — the levels come with a Straydogtrading.com subscription. Basics and Untested Levels are free and run next to it.
